About Pepe Dome
Pepe Dome is where circus arts and culture intersect. A place that makes performance accessible to people of every age and background.

Our story
The search for a space for contemporary circus began in 2006. Across several temporary venues (MUCCA, CircusHub, Sugar Mountain) the project grew until its official opening on 1 August 2025 in Munich's Ostpark. The geodesic dome with 8.5 m ceiling provides excellent acoustics and step-free access for spectacular shows and rigorous training.
Vision
Pepe Dome is becoming a long-term, vibrant place for contemporary circus, cultural exchange, artistic education, community programs and publicly accessible events.
Mission
Promoting contemporary circus and cultural participation in Munich, paired with inclusive training and education. Cultural focus: Ostpark.
Background & project idea
Pepe Dome is a geodesic dome with around 200 seats. Since August 2025 it serves as a stage, training space and cultural venue in Munich's Ostpark.
Before that, the Lunatico Theatre tent stood temporarily on the same spot. As part of the Nebourhoods project and the wind-down of Festspielhaus GmbH, the dome was handed over to us.
We reactivated it as a venue for contemporary circus and cultural formats, with the goal of creating a permanent cultural home in the Neuperlach neighbourhood. Talks are ongoing to integrate the dome into local urban development plans.
From 2026 the non-profit Circus Akademie München e.V. takes over operations to pursue artistic, educational and social goals.

Three pillars, one shared goal: to support and showcase circus arts as a contemporary art form.

As an active part of the cultural scene we engage in various networks to promote the visibility and professionalisation of circus arts.

Stronger together
Collaboration & community
Our values
These principles guide our work and shape everything we do.
Artistic excellence
We aim for the highest quality in shows and training and champion circus arts as a contemporary art form.
Inclusion & community
Everyone is welcome, whatever their background or experience. Culture for all.
