What unites us when we are so different? And how much freedom can a community tolerate? The circus, with its wide variety of disciplines and performers, is itself a symbol of diversity – and this is precisely where “OnE – United in Diversity” comes in: a full-length production at the intersection of theatre, dance, urban dance and contemporary circus.
Acrobatics meets choreography; physical partnership meets the language of dance. Rather than separating the disciplines from one another, the ensemble deliberately brings them into dialogue: different bodies, techniques and experiences are not standardised, but allowed to resonate. This creates an interplay between individuality and collectivity – between the moment when a body unfolds freely and the moment when many become one.
The piece was developed over several years of research and residencies, in collaboration with Sophie Coliendres and Alberto Bertolotti, amongst others. The premiere, as part of ‘Zeit für Zirkus’ at the Pepe Dome, showcases the result: diversity not as a buzzword, but as an aesthetic force – powerful, virtuosic and deeply human.

Tallarín with Banana
What remains of our childhood as time passes? *Im Wandel der Erinnerung* combines theatre, contemporary circus and aerial acrobatics to tell a moving story of friendship, heritage and growing up. With poetic imagery, subtle humour and impressive physical artistry, the piece explores memories, loss and the power of human connections – an emotional journey that lingers long in the mind.
Tallarín with Banana
What remains of a childhood when the world around us becomes an uncertain place? Which memories keep us together – and which friendships endure because they were formed early enough? ‘Tallarín con Banana’ tells the story of two neighbours growing up somewhere in South America in the 1980s and 1990s. A fictional yet deeply personal journey through childhood, adolescence and early adulthood – brought to life through music, dance, theatre and aerial acrobatics on the trapeze and in the aerial cradle. A production that oscillates between the intimate and the universal: between the children’s bedroom and history, between private play and collective experience. The Chilean-Argentine company Tallarín con Banana developed the piece in collaboration with the actor and director Severo Callaci. The starting point was the performers’ own life stories – from these memories grew images, from the images scenes, and from the scenes a unique poetic universe. The work premiered in spring 2021 in Rosario, Argentina; and since then it has moved audiences far beyond the borders of South America. An artful blend of movement, language and acrobatic physicality that celebrates the power of human connections – and reminds us that identity is not written by ourselves, but by the people who accompany us.
Diaries in Motion
“When the world pulls the rug out from under your feet, it’s good to be able to defy gravity.” What remains when one’s homeland is shattered? And what emerges when four women from Ukraine and Russia take to the stage together – not in spite of, but because of their stories? “Diaries in Motion” opens a window onto four lives in which individual struggles are transformed into shared strength. With daring acrobatics, bodies in flight and the precise language of contemporary circus, Lera Kutsenko, Daniela Levina and Maria Stolbunova create a collage of resilience – one that transcends political boundaries just as much as physical ones. The Berlin-based company Scenic Circus has been working at the intersection of circus, dance and theatre since 2022. Following the international success of “LYALKA” (Berlin Circus Festival, Sziget Festival Budapest), “Diaries in Motion” has been touring Germany and Poland since 2025. What awaits the audience is more than just a circus: it is physical poetry that lingers – powerful, vulnerable and deeply human. An invitation to overcome gravity together.
